pfft. okay. so i finished the series earlier today, and i was kind of mad at the way it all wrapped up. mainly in terms of hiei and kurama, natch.

but! so pretty much the ENTIRE season, there's been this maybe-not-so-subtle subtext with the two of them. and it's not that my slash goggles are on too tight -- it really is there. tv tropes said so.

ok, anyway. so this connection has been building between them all four seasons long. they're always RIGHT next to each other (as you can see above.) hiei doesn't gives two shits about the anyone else on their side EXCEPT kurama. in kurama's final battle, he gets hurt and hiei fucking gasps. it just. :flails: it's really obvious.

well, all of a sudden, in the second to last episode of the series, somebody decides, OH NO WE CAN'T HAVE THIS SO WE'RE GOING TO CHANGE STUFF AND IT'S NOT GOING TO MAKE ANY SENSE.

suddenly, hiei's playing house with mukuro (who i actually don't mind, because even she is pretty much like, "hiei, you know you're in love with kurama. you'd be so much happier if you just went over there and snogged the hell out of him acknowledge your true feelings." but. still, hiei's a loner. if he'd live with anybody, it'd be the person that knows him best. AND THAT'S KURAMA.

and. at one point, hiei gives kurama his necklace that he's worn pretty much since he was an infant. and someone decides to make it a point for kurama to say "i'm not interested in you that way."

bullshit. kurama's been lusting after his little fire demon for years.

i just. :flails again: it's not fair the way they ended it.

i still love the series though. and i'll ship hiei/kurama forever.

because i believe that's what togashi wanted. ♥

i hate it when that happens. :[ when you just know and it's so obvious that two characters are meant to be together, were supposed to be together, and then some shit gets pulled and oh no it turns out they're not gonna be together after all because of some glitchy shit that makes no sense in the first place.

i mean, hell. it's practically canon if the creator of the series did all that art themselves.

Dude, Hiei has problems. It's really a miracle that he trusts Kurama as much as he does; I don't see him ever opening up like that to anyone else. I mean, Yusuke is the person he's closest to after Kurama, but even after all this time, Hiei and Yusuke don't have that level of comfort between them that Hiei has with Kurama. SO WHY WOULD HIEI SUDDENLY BE ALL LOVEY-DOVEY WITH A RANDOM MANIPULATIVE BITCH WHO MINDFUCKED HIM I DON'T GET IT. >|

Also, you need to see this. It's pretty much the alternate ending, AND I LIKE IT SO MUCH BETTER.

Remember how we talked about all the great YYH romances being a parallel to Hiei and Kurama's relationship? HERE'S THE YUSUKE/KEIKO PARALLEL (which you probably already noticed, but I'm going to tell you anyway): While Yusuke was away in demon world getting his shit sorted out (like Hiei), Keiko waited for years for him to come back. THAT GIVES ME HOPE.

OH YES. We must sit down and discuss this at length, because Hiei/Kurama is SRSBNS. I'm always happy to see shiny lovey pictures, and may have some of my own to share. But yes, they're so very obvious. I was reading a site with Hiei and Kurama quotes to and about each other, and I just kept thinking, "HOW COULD ANYONE NOT SEE THIS?"

Thanks for the site! I checked it and unfortunately the anime is dubbed in English. No problem with the language - but if it's not in my MT I prefer it in the OV XDDD And I won't for sure re-watch it in spanish - I'm sure you haven't heard their voices, but they're awful. Anyway, THANKS A LOT!

Yes, they're quite obvious &hearts You may know this, but I'll tell you anyway: there ARE people who actually deny their love. I met some girls who were totally against the yaoi in YYh defending that there was not such a thing in the series and that it was all made up by fans. All I could think of was: Hello? Did we see the same anime/read the same manga? Or maybe you skiped the whole SENSUI/ITSUKI issue? I was amazed (and offended as well) that they could live in such a denial XD

Hmmm. You could also try http://animefreak.tv, I think they have both English dub and subbed versions on that site. I've only heard the FUNimation dub, and I'm in love with John Burgmeier and Chuck Haber's voices, so to hear anyone else doing Kurama and Hiei would probably make me weep in a corner Tamaki-style. :p

Well, it DOES not compute, but it exists. And Togashi ha been asked about this issue like a thousand of times and he has never said anything clear. NOT THAT HE NEEDS, man XDD It's clearly enough for me at least. Ok, I've never been acused of wearing my slash googles though I'm a great slasher, but Kurama/Hiei are obvious even for a kid.

They're just canon, 'nuff said.
