I love this crowd. So much.

So, it's that time again. The gang and I are here at B-Fest down at Northwestern University in Evanston, just outside of Chicago.

It's been a pretty pleasant trip thus far, with the exception of spending nearly two hours on the "expressway" once we got into Chicago. Feh.

The movie line-up has been acceptable...by B-Fest standards. I've seen the two movies I really wanted to catch with this crowd: Barbarella and Xanadu, the sountrack to which I will be singing FOR THE REST OF THE FRAKKING DAY OMG. I also got to see rockcandy76 again, so that was very cool. I think we've been at the same B-Fest for years now, but we didn't officially meet until last year. D'oh!

A special treat: one of the films on the lineup, Empire of the Ants, isn't screening properly, so they're replacing it with Lone Wolf McQuade, which is my FAVORITEST CHUCK NORRIS MOVIE EVER. And yes, Virginia, you can have such a thing as a favorite Chuck Norris movie.

I didn't win anything in the raffle this year, but my brother "won" some god-awful made for TV movie starring Tom Skerritt and a cast of...ones. fmh continues his streak of wins (he's picked up something for each of the five years we've attended), scooping up a 6-CD set of B-worthy music tracks.

Xanadu...Xanadu-ooh-ooh...

Mona, I don't know if I ever told you this, but Xanadu is one of my favoritist movies. I've purchased, broken and/or lost, and repurchased the soundtrack approximately 4 times in my life. I've subjected my poor children to this movie to the point where they now know the songs. I "caught" Glenda watching the battle scene between the 40's big band and the 80's rock band one Saturday morning and couldn't help but smile. (sigh)

The fact that you get to watch this movie on a big screen in a theater with hundreds of other people makes me so very, very green with envy.

Just wanted you to know.
