We had my state-side baby shower this past Saturday. Much fun was had by me. I hope the guests enjoyed themselves. We got even more stuff, which I didn't think was possible. We now have the crib and dresser, so he'll have a place to sleep and we can put his clothes away. Yay! He also got a car seat (which is how I spell relief, by the way. C-A-R-S-E-A-T. 'Cuz. The hospital won't let you take the baby home without one.), 3-stage feeding chair, a toddler stroller (so now we have two, one when he's wee little, and one for when he's a toddler), a Diaper Genie, the famous Boppy pillow, a fancy-schmancy microwave steam sterilizer (So high-tech. I remember sterilizing bottles by putting them in boiling water.)

Apparently, the gifts aren't quite finished yet...both mightyafroditeThe Mighty O's Moms and my aunt still have something they want to give us that we don't have yet.

*intrigue*

Oh my goodness. And [livejournal.com profile] crwilley made a blanket for Ky. It's absolutely beautiful. I am in awe of her powers of knitting/crocheting. I have it set to go in the baby wash, because he's coming home in his blankie.

Thank you so much, [livejournal.com profile] mightyafrodite, for putting it all together. I'd be lost without you, Sis. Thank you for being there for me thru everything. I only hope I can return the favor someday. Much love.

Get well wishes to [livejournal.com profile] frappjunkie and [livejournal.com profile] single_path. I hope the both of you are starting to feel better.

Sunday. That morning [livejournal.com profile] fmh, [livejournal.com profile] gamerngeek and [livejournal.com profile] dadandgirl took all three girls to the movies (part of the celebration of the girl-half's birthday. She's not supposed to be eight.) I was really achey and tired, so I stayed at home with the intention of coming to the CareBear's party later that afternoon. It was not to be. The fellas took the kids straight to the party after their outing, and I didn't have a way to get there...which was really all academic, since I couldn't stay awake anyway. I mean it. I slept ALL DAMNED DAY.

So ready to have this baby.

This is my last week at work. Much cleaning up and packing as the week rolls along. I meet the temp tomorrow and I guess we'll just sit and kind of go thru the basics of my job here. In theory, not a difficult task, but I don't know how good of a teacher I am, so...we'll see how that goes.

Dear Kimball,

I am BARRISTER JIDE BABS, a solicitor at law. I am the
personal attorney to Mr.Mark Kimballl,a National of your
country, who used to be foreign oil contractor to Federal
Government of Nigeria. Here in after be referred to as my
client.

Mark Kimballl?! My favoritest cousin's nephew's roommate's mechanic that I've never met! How you been, bud?

On the 21st of April 1999, my client, his wife And
three children were involved in a ghastly car accident
along sagbama express road. All occupants of the
vehicle unfortunately lost there lives.

Oh. So I guess you're not doing so good then, yeah? (They lost "there" lives? Okee.)

Since then I have made several enquiries to your
embassy to locate any of my clients extended
relatives this has also proved unsuccessful.
After these several unsuccessful attempts, I decided
to track his last name over the Internet, to locate
any member of his family hence I contacted you.

Well, sure. 'Cuz there's only 2 or 3 Kimballls in the world.

I have contacted you to assist in repartrating the
money and property left behind by my client before
they get confisicated or declared unserviceable by
the bank where this huge deposits were lodged.
Particularly, the finance company where the deceased
had an account valued at about 8million dollars has
issued me a notice to provide the next of kin or have
the account confisicated .

Repartrate the money? You can repartrate money? Cool! ... What's repartrate?

I have been unsuccesfull in locating the
relatives for over 2 years now I seek your consent to
present you as the next of kin of the deceased since
you have the same last name so that the proceeds of
this account valued at 8 million dollars can be paid
to you and then you and me can share the money. 60%
to me and 40% to you.

My dear favoritest cousin's nephew's roommate's mechanic that I've never met died in 1999, and you've only been trying to find a relative for the last two years? Hmm. Sounds flaky...but...I trust you. Since you found me over the internets and are now sending me this professional e-mail and everything. And, hey, since I'm his only kinfolk and all...wouldn't I get all the repartrateded money?

I have all necessary legal documents that can be used
to back up any claim we may make.

(Except for the one that proves we were related.)

all I require is
your honest co-operation to enable us see this deal
through Will be highly appreciated.
I guarantee that this will be executed under a legitimate
arrangement that will protect you from any breach of the
law.

Such a deal!

please get in touch with me by my email to enable us
discuss further.

Best Regards,
BARRISTER JIDE BABS

Why can't I have a lawyer named "Babs?" No fair.

Man, the whole baby-makin' process is a pain in the ass. Fortunately, the fun part's coming soon. 8)

Maybe the guy's name is actually Kimba the 3rd. But waitaminnit... if you're the one related to this Mark Kimba the third guy, how come his barrister gets 20% more of the moolah than his next of kin? Barrister Babs hasn't been doing that good of a job. Obviously he failed math...

All hail Nigeria! I know it has a lot more to offer than 419 scams, but the 419 scams are so. darn. good.

I was waffling over whether or not I should attend your shower. The decision was made for me by having two cars that are not functioning. However, I do have some stuff for your soon-to-arrive kid.

I'm exactly halfway done with the bib. It has green peapods on it. You'll probably have the baby before it's done, but it will get done before...December at the latest.

I'm feeling much better, thanks! Though I can't say the same for Nadine. You'd have to ask Marc how she's doing, as I haven't talked to him today. But thanks for your well-wishing!
