So four years ago, I met this guy. And I thought he was REALLY hot. And smart. And hot, did I mention he was hot? 'Cuz he was. I was attached at the time, and so was he, but I thought, "You know what? I'm probably never ever never going to see this guy again, so I'm just going to tell him about how hot he is."

So I did.

And he thought I was hot too. FTW.

We kinda/sorta got engaged. Moved in together. Got knocked up. And THEN we finally got married. Because our priorities are awesome.

Anyway. Three years ago too-day, [livejournal.com profile] fmh and I got hitched. And I wouldn't change that for anything in the world, you stubborn old coot.

Happy Anniversary, honey. I ♥ you.

Even more than Rupert Grint. Srsly. ^_~

I am now officially Mrs. [livejournal.com profile] fmh.

For being so sudden, it was a really nice affair (if you don't count us being late for our own wedding). The only sad part, of course, was Hoku and Malu not being there with us. But, it's another reason we'll still have a "ceremony." 1) So the kids can be a part of it and B) so the families get to have their "wedding." Pomp and cirmcumstance have never meant much to [livejournal.com profile] fmh and me, but we do understand that it is a major deal to them.

Our friends and my family (Mom, Dad and my brother) were there with us to celebrate, including [livejournal.com profile] mightyafrodite, [livejournal.com profile] crwilley, both halves of [livejournal.com profile] dadandgirl (the girl half was our "ring girl," she did great.), [livejournal.com profile] hexslinger, [livejournal.com profile] elspethsheyna (yay, I got it right on the first try!) and little [livejournal.com profile] hexslinger/[livejournal.com profile] elspethsheyna clone Taylor. I think I remembered everyone. [livejournal.com profile] hexslinger and the dad half of [livejournal.com profile] dadandgirl were our official witnesses.

The courthouse ceremony has become a little more encompassing than when I had that other marriage back in '97. They actually talk a little bit before they go into the "do you take this putz/nag to be your lawfully wedded pain-in-the-ass?" part.

:)

There were several pictures being taken, so I'm sure we'll have something to post somewhere. I found out later that [livejournal.com profile] crwilley had recorded the entire ceremony in *.mpeg format. (I'm glad I didn't blow my lines. Or mess up even!) We're going to try to set that up so we can send it to the kids so they can at least watch it.

A smaller portion of the group (us newlyweds, [livejournal.com profile] crwilley, [livejournal.com profile] dadandgirl, [livejournal.com profile] hexslinger, [livejournal.com profile] elspethsheyna and Taylor) went to BD's Mongolian Barbecue for dinner after the ceremony. [livejournal.com profile] crwilley and [livejournal.com profile] dadandgirl bought us dinner as a wedding present. Again, thank you so much. We had a really nice time. One of the major bits of entertaiment was watching Taylor try to shimmy her way of her little hammock. (She and Ky will only be about 6 months apart. OMGWTFCUTE.)

Back at the ranch we had CAKES and champagne (well, not me). [livejournal.com profile] crwilley made us a cake, and one of my co-workers bought us a cake. Sugary and fizzy goodness. My co-worker also got us a little gift. A bride and groom bear set of Beanie Babies called "We Do."

It's still kind of an odd feeling. It already felt like we were married, but now it's all official-like and stuff.

And dammit...this is going to last forever...'cuz it's the last time I'm getting married. :p

Last Thursday, I'd had a pretty good day, all things considered. I felt good, I wasn't really tired, I was in a good mood most of the day. Then, around 10:00 that night, after [livejournal.com profile] mightyafrodite dropped me off at home, and I'd kissed the kids goodnight, I went to the bathroom to find out that I was bleeding. Not spotting, but bleeding. Not only was I bleeding, but I passed a ginormous clot. At least, it was ginormous to me. It was the size of a small egg.

Naturally, I was scared out of my fracking skull.

I called U of M Triage, and they asked me a couple of questions about what I was experiencing. Um. I'm BLEEDING AND I PASSED A HUGE &*($)#! CLOT!

They said they would have a nurse call me right back. Ok.

*waitwaitwait*

*not getting a response soon enough*

*calls back* "Um, I called just a few minutes ago, the nurse was supposed to call me backandshedidn'tandIneedtotalktosomeonesotheycancalmmedownPLEASE!"

Basically, they ask me how heavy is the bleeding, what color it is, if I'm having any cramping, etc. The bleeding was heavy enough for me to panic, but I was having no cramping. They tell me to keep check on it, and if I start cramping, or soak thru a pad in less than an hour, get my ass to Mars to the emergency room.

So I keep check, and I wait, and I'm still panicking. So [livejournal.com profile] fmh suggests that we just go to the ER to confirm that everything is okay. Otherwise, I wouldn't get any sleep.

Go to the ER, they run all sorts of tests. They do two different ultrasounds, and they confirm that the baby is indeed alive and blobbing. (That's about what it looks like right now. A blobby thing.) We even get to hear the heartbeat. It sounds like a washing machine...

...this is the most wonderful sound in a world, y0.

[livejournal.com profile] fmh is wonderful. He does his best to keep me calm thru the whole ordeal. He makes me laugh, which really is the best medicine for me. He played cool, calm and collected, but I'm sure he was worried too. Though he's been a father twice over, it doesn't make moments like this any easier. I loveth him.

They tell me to call my OB in the morning to see if I can get an appointment any sooner than the 28th (my original first prenatal visit). Rescheduled it for Monday (yesterday). The whole thing is diagnosed as a "threatened abortion."

*worries*

At my appointment yesterday, we go thru the tests again. They also do another ultrasound as well as a pelvic exam and determine that everything looks good. They are able to pinpoint the source of the bleeding -- they called it "implantation bleeding." Apparently, this happens when the placenta is attaching itself to the uterus. It's normal, they tell me.

*sigh of relief*

So, I had a scare, but both me and the baby are well. My next prenatal visit is April 4th, with my First Trimester Screening on April 5th.

Busy days ahead, I'd wager.
