personally, i've never understood why the usage of marijuana has been illegal.
It messes you up, girl! For Me, I've known people who have gone to jail for assaulting women after being high, These one kids who were friends of my cousins lost their lives last year because they were high and they decided to drive. Although the same can be said for Alcohol i guess.
Then a really really bad story close to my heart... A friend of mine tried to kill herself about 3 times and each time she was high from marijuana. So, for me it should stay illegal. Making anything illegal doesn't stop people from doing it though, so...
I'm sorry that you've known people who have had such awful experiences with marijuana usage.
I've never known anyone that experienced anything to that extent, in fact, a few people that I know who are suffering from chronic pain and various cancers have only benefited -- one acquaintance in particular suffered so terribly from his chemotherapy that he was unable to eat without being sick. Marijuana therapy allowed him to not only have an appetite, but to keep food down which has helped him considerably.
I suppose that different people have had varying experiences. It'll be interesting to see how each state handles the issue.

This. It's really all circumstantial. I'm sorry that you've had such awful experiences, but I have friends who have used pot and the most they ever wanted to do was chill and eat a shitload of junk food; something pot usually makes you want to do if you smoke it enough times.
I'm kind of on the fence, but I figure, people are smoking it anyway and making it illegal doesn't stop them, and it's one of the...less extreme drugs out there, so to speak. So, eh, I agree. I think it should be legalized.
My thoughts exactly. There are more addicting/harmful substances out there that are already legalized, so I really don't see what everyone's so afraid of. :P
(And LOL nothing happened to me the time I tried it, either. Guess you have to do it a few times before it starts to get interesting.)
Yep, I think it should be legalised - then it can be properly monitored. I don't think it's such an issue in the US necessarily, but here in the UK skunk's become a big problem - it's basically weed grown in water not earth, because that's the only way to grow weed in our climate, and it can be twelve times as strong so it messes you up BAD. I'd like to see marijuana legalised here, cos I think it would help with the skunk problems.
