A wish for a very happy birthday.

It's funny how the littlest things can bring people together.

In this case, it was the idea that a ginger-haired, freckle-faced hothead and a pale, cold-hearted backstabber could somehow put down their wands and hold each other instead.

This is how I met my thrihyrne. I discovered her through digging through countless bits of fanfiction that I'd never read to look for anything that paired up Ron Weasley with Draco Malfoy. They're considered a "rarepair" and pickings were slim. And then I stumbled upon a wonderful something called Magic Immunity. The pairing that I adore written in a style that took my breath away...what can I tell you? I was hooked.

Time went on, and I decided that I would try my hand at this writing business again. It was thrihyrne who took my hand, figuratively, and led me to discover that I could actually string words together and make them interesting, stimulating, tantalizing. She told me once, "Trust your words," and I've never looked back.

That's the kind of soul that she is - always kind, always thoughtful and thought-provoking, and I'm constantly amazed at how she shines, even when the world around her is not as bright as it could be.

Thev - thank you for being the beautiful person you are, for always understanding my flights of fancy, for pushing me to write even when I may not want to -- because you can see the story in me, even if I don't.

Thank you for being my dear, dear friend. I truly feel blessed to be able to consider myself one of yours.

OMG YOU MADE ME CRY TOO. And of course what came up on my rotation when I began reading this? "Twisted Logic" by Coldplay, from one of the permutations of your ever-fabulous Ron/Draco soundtrack(s).

Fanfiction and writing in general: I'm convinced that it brings together some of the most wondrous people in the world, and somehow I was gifted with the best attraction there is: individuals with gorgeous souls and talent and guiding spirits— somehow, you all find me and I'd be so lost without you.
