It's my second full day in DC, and I'm thoroughly enjoying how *quiet* it is in my space right now. As guilty as I still feel about leaving fmh and the kids for a week, I realise that I truly do *need* this time to myself.

Yesterday, mightyafrodite went to P.F. Chiang's for dinner, which was absolutely amazing. I think that "attractiveness" must be part of the hiring criteria, because every single employee we saw there was hot. Even the manager, whom we'd scared for a minute because mightyafrodite had a surprise toothache when he came by to ask us if our meal was satifactory. He stood at our table for a minute and had this look on his face that said, "OMG SHE'S FOUND GLASS IN THE FOOD OMFG MY LIFE IS OVER!" She explained what had happened and that it had nothing to do with the food (which was A.MAZE.ING. btw) and then he was relieved and he went away.

At one point during the meal, I made her laugh until she couldn't breathe by talking about how I would alert her when the Rupert In A Quidditch Uniform picture finally hits. 'Cuz you know it will. This was the gist of our conversation:

Me: And you know I'm going to call you and be all, "OMG I DON'T CARE WHAT YOU'RE DOING YOU HAVE TO GO ONLINE RIGHT FUCKING NOW. DO IT. NOW.

She: And then I be like, "But..."

Me: And I'm going to say, "NUH-UH. NO BUTS. ONLINE. GO NOW. IT'S THE PICTURE."

She: But what if I'm in the middle of a lecture?

Me: TELL THEM YOU HAVE TO PEE.

And see, we have conversations like this ALL THE TIME. I missed my Divine Miss M. Rly.

We also trolled around Border's for while, and I bought the 'Iron Man' soundtrack. I keep telling mightyafrodite about how FUCKING AWESOME the movie is, so I think we'll go see that at some point during the week. And of course, 'Prince Caspian' must be had seen before I go.

I've got to get in touch with a couple of people who wanted to meet up while I'm here, but other than that, we're sort of taking things as they come. I'm having a good time. :)

Okay, I've gotta go wake mightyafrodite in a few minutes.

Maybe I can still come see you? What all are you doing and how long are you there? It sounds as though you're having so much fun!!! I even put movie tickets in my backpack thinking I'd go and see Prince Caspian all spontaneous-like this week. Maybe I will. Hope you continue to have a fabulous week!!! Oh, and I wrote Wraeththu PWP. Maybe it'll do something for you during any downtime you get. ;)

I'm so glad you're having a blast. Sometimes being away from home even though you're worried and missing the family, it still helps to have some "you" time. So I'm glad you're having fun.
