I LOVE scarves. Just adore them. Right now my fave is my bright green wool with fringe (from a pharmacy LOL) but I'm wearing a white wool and sparkle one (it's like a single thing strand of tinsel in the wool. Not overwhelming but really cute) that doubles as a jumper. I kid you not. There's a hole in the middle and it goes over your arms and around your shoulders like a jumper without a full back or front. If the digital was working I'd show you.
That scarf has a lovely pattern! I'm just learning to knit so I can't help you, sorry. :(
What colors do you like? I can't promise you'd get it soon - I've got two other things promised to people right now - but all my itch to make one of those was waiting for was the right person to give it to. :)
Hee. If you're buying the yarn...I should point out that Lorna's Laces runs about $30/skein, and the pattern calls for 4.
Supposedly the yarn is worth it - I've never used it, at that price. But if the thought of spending $120 on yarn for a scarf makes your heart stop like it does mine, we can discuss alternatives. :)
(I don't think the retailer listed in Ypsi is where they say it is - I drive by that address all the time and I hope I would've noticed a yarn store. :) But it'sgot the same name as a place I know as being right down the strip mall from the Plymouth Road Kroger. There's also City Knits, which has an outlet in the Guardian Building. Worst case, it can be ordered on the Internet.)

*heart stops*
Yes. Yes, let's discuss alternatives. :p
I'll go with your judgment on what a nice alternative will be, since I know nothing about yarn/knitting/nuthin'. :) We'll take a look around and see what's available.
Yeah. It mostly depends on how much you want to spend - it could be done for under $10, without even resorting to the yarn that feels like it comes from recycled tires.
Essentially there's two ways to make it cheaper: 1) Use cheaper yarn. Lion & Lamb is the most expensive yarn Lorna's Laces sells; they've got one in machine-washable wool for $18/skein, for example, that comes in all the same colorways as the expensive one. If you're not wedded to Lorna's Laces (although their colors are soooooo nice), it might almost be a case of "walk into the yarn store and/or JoAnn Fabrics and fondle the yarn until you find one you both like and can afford"
2) Make it smaller. That gives you the option to use fewer skeins of yarn (a pretty common variation is to make it half the width, more similar to an American-style scarf; it'll still go around the neck but won't drape over the shoulder like in the one picture) or a lighter-weight yarn (which would come out with the same proportions, but a smaller size).
Tomorrow I can show you a web gallery that has something like 650 clapotises in all kinds of different styles; it's on a website that's in beta-testing, so they're not letting random strangers look through it yet. :(
I, ah... really like accessories...

You've seen these before then? Aren't they cool?
As far as colour goes, I'm torn between three:
Envy:
Right now, I'm leaning toward Envy, but I haven't decided yet.
According to the Lorna's Laces website, there is a retailer in Ypsi. I hope that is the case.
