In browsing journals the last few days, and I've come to the conclusion that there are three shows on television that everyone is watching but me.

Grey's Anatomy
House
Veronica Mars

What do you think about these shows? Love? Hate? Am I missing something spectacular, or am I better never to have seen it at all?

Opinions!

I've heard good things about all of them. The only one I've ever watched was Veronica Mars, and I liked it. Not enough to have it draw me in though. And I'm not a fan of hospital shows. Except Chicago Hope.

Other shows I do watch and highly reccommend are Monk, The Dead Zone, Who Wants to be a Superhero?, and Good Eats.

I've been meaning to watch Who Wants To Be A Superhero?, but I keep missing it.

Monk is my hero. The Dead Zone is one of my favs, as is Alton Brown's Good Eats.

Do you watch The 4400?

I finally got to watch Psych the other night.

Gus's obsession with the spelling bee cracked me up.

I can only speak for House, but I think it's brilliant. Some of the best writing on TV right now, damn fine acting all round, icky and twisty medical problems, and Hugh Laurie is the absolute king of snark. Every time it looks like they are going to go for a cliche, they zip off in another direction.

Grey's Anatomy: I just finished season 1 of this series and of the three, I personally think it's the weakest. Don't get me wrong, it's a good show, I just think you should give the other two a shot first.

House: Love, love, love this series. The plot gets repetitive after a while, but the characters and the brilliant performance by Hugh Laurie really make this show work.

Veronica Mars: My favorite of the bunch. Great characters, plot, and dialogue. I’d give this one a try before any of the others.

P.S. KYO!!!

I've heard nothing but good things about Hugh Laurie. I think I will give it shot.

I've seen eleventy billion Veronica Mars icons out there, so I figure someone must like it! Now that I know what channel it's on (finally!), I'm going to put a reminder on it.

I wonder if I can get the first season from Netflix?

P.S. Kyo is anime love!

Heard good things about everything but the only one I can speak of is House and I've only seen 15 minutes of that.

From what I saw, it's kind good. The writing is interesting and Hugh Laurie is every flavour of sex and talent.

Hugh Laurie is every flavour of sex and talent.

So wait Hugh Laurie.

He's talented. He's sexy. And he's British.

Why am I not watching this?!

*could have had a V8*

House and Veronica Mars, definately. Never seen Gray's Anatomy, and don't intend to. No particular reason for it, just not interested.

House: Hugh Laurie + stubble = Teh Sex. He's "American" on the show, so no accent, but he is flat-out the only reason to watch the show. The character is: snarky, complex, and has issues. Fun!

Veronica Mars: One of those things I meant to watch but then never knew when it was on and didn't see it. So, hooray for DVDs + people who put episodes on the intarweb. The whole first season is out on DVD, and I know s2 is coming out, if it isn't already. It's like...film noir for high-schoolers. She's a petite blonde, but not dumb. She's smart, funny, can be a bad-ass and could tell you everything you wanted to know about your own life just by looking it up on her computer :)

The writing is great, in my opinion. Hell, even Joss Whedon has said he loves the show (heck, he was even in an episode, come to think of it).

I lurves it. Lurve, lurve lurrrrrrrrrve.

Fwuh.

I'm a Nip/Tuck fiend.

I was disappointed with the ending of the last season (the revealing of The Carver was kinda of feh), but I loved it anyway.

And of course, Julian & Sean are hawt sex in the rain. ghslkgha

Lost continues to amazr me. They have no qualms about bumping off popular characters. I love that.

Grey's Anatomy: From what I've seen it, it kind of feels like a soap oprea, a real "chick" show...lol. So, I never got into it, just like I couldn't get into "Desperate Housewives" couldn't see the appeal.

House: I've seen one episode and it was cool, like X-files meets ER in a way, and of course Hugh Laurie is what made the show, but again, not enough for me to stay interested.

Veronica Mars: Didn't like at all, I tried watching at least two episodes and I felt like I had been dropped off in boring city with a side stop in is it over yet village...lol. So, I don't rec.

I'm a Law and Order Junkie, especially SVU, there was a great show out for awhile called In Justice and the lead actor was hot as hell, but I guess it didn't get picked up. I watch Monk as well, but barely now, because I loved it when Sherona was the sidekick, I don't like the new girl, so I can only tolerate so much of her.

I love watching Amazing Race, Hell's Kitchen (Gordon Ramsey is my evil weakness). Supernatural is pretty cool, sexy boys with another X-files vibe, very nice. I'm boring...lol, all I ever really watch is the food network...lol.

Oh, yeah. I am a Lost junkie. I want to smother Sawyer and shag him silly...lol.

Oh I watch Rescue Me sometimes, I mostly watch because of the whole buddy feeling, other than that when he's not with his buddies, it's not as interesting. Alright, I think I'm done.

never seen veronica mars.

saw grey's anatomy once or twice...seemed fun enough, but i guess you'd have to watch it regularly to really care about the characters.

like House a lot. he's got a dry sense of humor and i love it.

I've seen an ep of VM, and it didn't feel like they were rly high schoolers.

House is excellent because the main character is obnoxious. Makes me laugh every episode. Most patients' illnesses have something to do with naughty sex and drugs. And there's naughty sexing and drugging amongst House's staff, as well, but only occasionally, which makes it tolerable. My parents are both doctors and they watch House with me sometimes, and they can follow and diagnose the cases along with Dr. House, so it's pretty medically accurate.

Grey's Anatomy focuses less on medical drama and more on everyone's relationships. The characters are kind of cheesy, IMO.

While you're considering TV shows, you should try Psych on USA. Fridays @ 9pm EST. *points to icon*

Hope you are feeling better. Emily got sick on sat. there and still is not herself. Hope she didn't pass it on to you.
You know how we feel about Grey's Anatomy...we love it. We have been watching from the beginning. It's different than the other medical shows.
I have heard that House is good and I want to check it out but just haven't had the time.
