We took the girls to see GoF this past Saturday. They seemed to enjoy it, especially Hoku. Malu liked it for the most part...what we saw of it...since she asked me to take her to the bathroom about elebenty-lebben times. She got scared at the end, which is understandable if you've read the book. For parents who are planning to take their kids, the PG-13 rating is pretty accurate.

shugotenchi, frappjunkie and single_path at the theatre after the movie was over, which was cool (though it would have been cooler if we could have all sat together, but hey). Afterwards we stood around and talked about it for a few minutes -- about how the kids have grown, especially the guy that plays Neville. I swear he's 8'2" now.
shugotenchi agrees with me that the guy playing Barty Crouch deserved a Heil or two. I think it's the moustache.
I thought it was great. Definitely the best of the movie series thus far. I hope that Mike Newell will be directing Order of the Phoenix as well. *hopehopehope*

Cedric really needs to be brought back to life. Or made a ghost. Or something. I mean it. LOVED HIM.
A couple of things I was disappointed about:
No matter. The movie is sooooo good.
James and Oliver Phelps have really come into their own as Fred and George. They cracked me up on a regular basis.
The scene with the fangirls running after Victor Krum was too funny.
Neville? When did you get so...awesome? I hate/love you for it.
Brendan Gleeson as Mad-Eye Moody was by far the best acting performance in the movie. He's outstanding. The scene where his true identity is revealed is really well done. And I never thought I'd say this, but Michael Gambon!Dumbledore is better than Sir Richard Harris!Dumbledore. Truly. Brava, guys.
Dude. The scene with Harry in the prefect bathroom? Priceless. Almost made me regret the PG-13 rating...Myrtle could stand some lovin'. (Where's the scene where Cedric figures out the secret to the second clue? Huh?!)
Angsty Ron is, like any other Ron, hot sex on a platter. I mean, even his hair is sex. *spaz*
Funniest scene ever? Filch running up and down the Great Hall before they introduced Beauxbatons and Durmstrang. I want an animated icon of that shit.
I loved every scene with Cedric. I really want JKR to bring him back somehow in Book 7.
And I teared up at the end. Fuck you, JKR.
I will more than likely go to see it again. probably withmightyafrodite, who hasn't seen it yet (as far as I know), so I appreciate it in the way that only a depraved, perverted fangirl can. >:)

- When did Padma Patil become a Gryff? Me no get.
- Not enough Quidditch World Cup stuff. I got excited when I saw that they'd decided to keep it after all, but they left so much out I almost felt like they shouldn't have bothered. Le sigh.
- I never want to see Harry and Hermioninny kiss ever. NEVER EVER AGAIN.
- Why did Cho have a Scottish brogue? Huh? Why?!
- I still hate Emma Watson. I'll give this to her, she's growing up well. But she's always done this weird eyebrow waggling thing that has consistently pissed me off. Bah.
- If you're going to show me naked Hogwarts boys/men chest, let it be Ron's. I never want to see Harry's naked chest again. Ewwwwwwwwww.
