After some deliberation, hoku_star is going to have her...*cringe*...Chuck E. Cheese party next Saturday. (Her birthday is this coming Sunday.) Next week just works out better for everybody, the cousins will be able to make it down and her Uncle Jay and Aunt Ern and Cousin Emily are planning to head down as well. That will be very cool. They haven't seen the girls since Christmas, and they missed them so much. They'll also get to see how big Emily has gotten. They're gonna have a ball together, I think.

The bad part about putting the CEC party off til next weekend is that there was the very real possibility of Hoku feeling like her birthday was less than special. I will NOT have my baby thinking this way. So, I put an idea to her: this Saturday, we'll have a little slumber party at the house for a few of her friends. They can hang out and play and squeal (nothing squeals like little girls) and watch movies and throw popcorn at each other and all the stuff little girls do at slumber parties. She's given me the "o.k." (which for Hoku means she does this little thing where she wiggles her fingers and gets this big smile on her face. I missed that look.) for the slumber party idea, so we'll get the stuff together for that. I'll ask my Dad if he can borrow the digital camera from work so we can maybe snap some photos we can send to cyriael. I think she'll have a good time...and she gets to have two parties, essentially. Not bad for a 9 year old. :)

I had my 38th week prenatal appointment yesterday. Everything is going well for the most part. My blood pressure is lovely as always and his heartbeat is good and strong. He's also in the "vertex" position, which means his head is pointed south, just like it should be. The doc doesn't seem to think that he'll be able to flip anymore before it's time...I'm being optimistic and hoping that she's right. The only somewhat bad part is that I tested positive for Group B Strep infection, so they'll be giving me antibiotcs during my delivery. Doc says that it's not uncommon, and they won't have to give my a separate needle for them. I've never had a problem with needles, but in this circumstance, I think the less they have to mess with me, the better.

I know I keep saying this...but I am really ready to have this baby. During the night, I must have been hurting pretty bad, because fmh woke me up asking if I was okay. He said I was whimpering like I was in pain. Ush. Then this morning, Ky decided he wanted to dance or something, so I had these funny bulges all over my belly. Also, his head and fists keep knocking on my pelvic bone, which really friggin' hurts.

Not as much as I know labor and delivery will, but it hurts like hell the same. I could barely walk this morning.

Only 2 weeks left. 14 days.

I can make it.

I started exercising more in an effort to start labor. It took dancing to Ricky Martin toi do it, but I didn't make it to 40 weeks.

I'd much rather go into labor early. I'm tired of being pregnant, but moreover I'm ready to meet my son!

Hokulani ("Star of Heaven") is such a joy to me. This world would honestly be a much darker place without her in it.

Thank you! (I'm hoping I won't have to wait two weeks. :p) I have to get a digital camera of my own so fmh can post pictures when he gets here.

Well seeing how you are now going to be off after friday.
Go for walks outside on the pavement or at a store with cement floors.
This should help out, gravity works, let it help you along.
Do you have one of those exercise balls you could sit and bounce on?
If not let me know and I'll look for ours to let you borrow if you want too.
