"We came, we saw, we kicked its ass!"
That pretty much sums up my feelings about B-Fest. It was a blast, my dear friends, and I don't use that word lightly -- um, that word being "blast." Yes. I'll stop digging now.
We got to Ann Arbor, and loaded up into the ShortBus of DOOM!, along with a most excellent bunch of fellas:

I squee with girlygeek glee at the prospect of joining these guys for FNS.
After a 5-hour trip in the ShortBus of DOOM!, entirely too much fast-food (and good Lord, was it wonderful), and trying to get rid of ice INSIDE the car, we finally made it to Evanston, Illinois and the campus of Northwestern University. Got our tickets, but I was too late to get an XL B-Fest t-shirt. Curses!
Squee! I got to see my

Movies. Yes, I remember there being movies. There was a John Agar nightmare called "The Brain from Planet Arous." Now, I don't remember how "Arous" is pronounced...but you know me, it became "Arouse" in no time flat. A few other horrors from the 50s & 60s. I managed to crack up TheMike with a Gollum quote during "The Beatniks," which made me most happy and stuff. There was a really bad blaxploitation flick called "Monkey Hustle" starring Yaphet Kotto and Rudy Ray Moore. The highlight of that movie was seeing what kind of gold lame' disaster Rudy would appear in next.
I finally got to see "Plan 9 From Outer Space." ♥ It was as horrible/wonderful as I had heard it was, and to see it with audience participation was joyous. We must remember to bring paper plates next year. That was definitely the highlight of the fest, as far as movies go.
I also got to hear The Best Line Ever Spoken In Film History. There was a flick called, "The Beast With Five Fingers." The "beast" is a hand. *cue The Addams Family theme* Anyhoo, there's a scene where Peter Lorre is standing on a balcony as the hand plays a piano downstairs. In classic Peter Lorre (heeeeeeh), he says, "the hand...is playing...down there!" As if this weren't bad enough, the next shot is of Peter with a look of agony?/ecstasy? on his face. Yes. Mona has a filthy mind, which apparently comes in handy during such an event.
The low point? A soft-core porn version of "Alice In Wonderland." I've scheduled hourly brain-boiling sessions to try to get rid of that one. I'll give you an example: there's a scene with Tweedle-Dee and Tweedle-Dum. The former, a guy -- the latter, a girl. They romp in those wheelie-beanies, wear only blue tops, and they have sex. After it's all over, they happily informed Alice (and the horrified audience) that they are brother and sister. Yes. SUFFER!
After "Plan 9," the movies got rather boring. I agree completely with

It was a most excellent weekend -- stiff body and all.
I'm just catching up with the rest of the world. So, Justin Timberlake "accidently" pulls off part of Janet Jackson's top? Suuuuuuuure. And white wine is "Jesus Juice" apparently.
Oh, those loveable wacko Jackos!
