Wanna know what I got?

I walked past a used bookstore, and it was in the window. I honestly squealed when I saw it, but I kept on walking. I got to the curb and said to myself "fuck it," and went back for it. It cost me $7.50, which is a STEAL.

I grew up reading Richard Scarry books. They always held a special magic for me. Of course they were cute and cartoony, but they were also full of knowledge and wonder. His books didn't patronize children.

Richard Scarry spoke our language.

'Busiest People Ever' is my second favorite Scarry book, the first being 'My House.'

I'll have to go back and see if I can find that one.

In the meantime, I'm so very happy.

*hugs her book*

I freakin' loved Richard Scarry as a kid, especially Huckle and Lowly. The apple car still cracks me up.

I'm pretty sure I have that book is back in Illinois somewhere. :)

OMG! I didn't recognise the author, but I recognise the illustration. It gives me a warm fuzzy feeling all over

This brings back so many memories! I loved Richard Scarry as a child, and looking for Lowly Worm was one of my favourite pastimes. I've been looking for Scarry books for my son so that he can have the same fun when he's old enough, but they're damned hard to come by. :(

i think ...

AW, one of my fave books in the whole wide world. I've got that one :D

When I was in the class Writing for Children, I did a huge paper on Richard Scarry and his son. They were so cool!
