Aug. 25th, 2003 12:36 pmSo I get all geared up to listen to Sheryl Crow (Tuesday Night...), and the CD's not in the case. Well, fuck me hard. Pfft. Anyway...
I had this odd dream.
I had to save this woman who was being help captive underwater. I'm not sure how this was possible, but I had 15 minutes to rescue her. I didn't know this woman.
She was held by all of these chains and shackles and clamps and such, and there was a specific pattern to opening them all. If you unlocked them in the wrong order, all of the latches bolted again, and you had to start over.
And the bad guy, who had locked this woman up in the first place, was watching with his cronies. Kind of like a game show. I didn't know this bad guy either.
So, obviously, I panic. I'm not good at puzzles like that. Not to mention there's that little added wrinkle of a woman's life hanging in the balance. And an audience.
So, I start unfastening. I remember specifically having to start at the bottom. There were these two very long very thick chains with shackles locked around the woman's ankle. I remember that so well because I had to keep doing it over and over again. It was the correct part, but somewhere else, I would screw it up, and I'd have to start over.
The woman died...but the next thing I knew, I was unfastening her damned ankle bracelets again.
She died a few more times due to my screwups, but when she died, it would start over, like a freakin' video game.
'Twas truly odd.
Maybe it had to do with the fact that I went to bed with a head full of vodka.
