Aug. 16th, 2003 10:18 amWell, me, I walked down 34 flights of stairs. With my knee in the brace. What joy that was. I work on the 17th floor of my building, y'see, and there are technically 2 flights of stairs bewteen each floor.
Then I walked UP 14 flights of stairs to get to my apartment. Same thing, I live on the 7th floor, 2 flights betwixt each.
After my cardiovascular exercise for the year, I'm very sore. My body is one big pulled muscle. I relied on my arms and my left leg a great deal to keep the weight off of my bad knee. It would have been teh suck if my knee had decided to give out.
Once I finally got home, took a cool shower while the hydro was still going and put the perishables in the freezer. I got my flashlight and a Stephen King book, found my walkman, and I was good to go.
On Friday, I actually attempted going to work, since the power was back on in my area. No one had called me to let me in on anything, so I find out the hard way that the building was close. Fine. A free day always rocks, and we got supplies for Spork. She loves her wheel; I got to watch her run on it very early this morn. Hee!
I'm concerned for my family, mostly. I don't think their area as power yet. The weather is not being kind, and because the buses aren't running (due to the fuel shortage), they have no way to get to me.
