Birthday and update.
May. 11th, 2005 12:51 pmOh my goodneth. Little Miss Maluhia is 5 today. I still can't believe it. I mean. Oh man. Next she'll be 6, and then 16, and! Well, you know what I mean. 5!
We're having her birthday party on Saturday. Having it at the Ann Arbor Hands On Museum, and all of her cousins and her friends are coming. It should be a blast. :)
Happy Birthday, my baby girl! I love you!
I had to head off to the doctor's today. Again. I had the quad test screening for the baby last week, and one of the AFP (alpha feto-protein) results that came back was considered a concern level for spina bifida, a condition in which the spine doesn't completely close up like it should. Naturally they wanted to get me in there to take a look at the baby. The bad thing about this screening is that there's a 1 in 5 chance of getting a false positive result. I decided to take that chance.
So, we got another look at zee babee today. The spine is complete and everything there looks good, so it looks like we were one of the false positive results. The head and brain are developing on schedule, the heart has a strong beat. The baby was playing with its feet. :)
Oh, and they were able to tell us what we're having.
We have every indication that we're birthin' a boy. :)
I'll post some scans of the baby tomorrow if I can swing it.
A boy. Hee!
