okay you gadget people

i need some help with my daughter's ipod.

she has an ipod classic, and the 'very low battery' screen is coming up and it NEVER GOES AWAY.

now, i've been told that it has to mount in order to charge, if it's not charging...then it can't mount...? idek.

so, any ideas on what could be happening? does it need a new battery or somesuch thing?

Yup... New battery. And it has to be sent to apple to get it done...

OH PFFFFFFFFT.

That's what I was afraid of.

You don't necessarily have to send it in. If you search around you can find some videos on how to open them yourself and replace it (it's not too hard).
You can buy batteries at an electronics store, I'm pretty sure.

Agreed, my first ipod did that for a couple of months before I took it in to get looked at, and it needed a new battery.

Sorry, have no idea - I am a total technophobe! But I just had to tell you how much I love your icon!! Perfect :)

Crap :P Sadly the problem with old electronics. If you find out how much it'll be, let me know. I should be able to help out after the new year.

And the icon is awesomeness, yes :)

According to Apple's website, it costs $59 to replace the battery for an iPod Classic, which is less than I thought it was going to be, honestly.

We'll work something out. :)

Just stopping in to say

MASTER!!

Have you tried resetting it? It won't get rid of the music but it might help with the battery issue...Other than that, I would ust say to get a new battery.

Yeah, resetting was the first thing I tried. The Apple icon flickered briefly and then went out. I think the battery's finally worn out. :p
