OMG.

How the HELL am I going to squeeze that out?

He weighs 15 oz now, 8 more than my last visit. He has a swollen right kidney, which the doctor told us is common in boys. It has to do with their urethra being smaller, and sometimes urine takes a little longer to get out. I have another ultrasound in 8 weeks, and they'll see how that's coming along. Other than that, everything is going really well. My health is good, my blood pressure is, to quote the doctor, "beautiful," and I've actually lost a few pounds.

I figure that'll catch up with me sooner or later.

And I think I felt a flutter today. So weird. Maybe it was gas. I'm not really sure. :p

That reminds me of what Carol Burnett said about having a baby, "It's like opening an umbrella up your ass".

Wow, that's a head... I like how it's typed "PROFILE" on the scan. "You mean it's not flat like this?!"

[identity profile] sexyscholar.livejournal.com 2005-06-07 08:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Dude. I wish.

Birth scares me. It didn't before, but the hugeness of the head (pronounced "HAID") scares the beegeebus out of me.

Just wait until you show up at Lamaze class and they give you a 10cm circle for your nametag... :) My mom described it as "like shitting a watermelon", and that is indeed what it felt like.

There is a downside to being flat. It would be sharp.

Yeah, you know, watching you go through it... I always figured I'd have one child, but I'll see how you turn out... They women forget the pain of birth and go on to have more kids, but there has to be exceptions to that rule!

And my mom told me that when she had me, my head got stuck and I wouldn't budge, until the doctor got fed up and yelled "FORCEPS!" and I sure had dents in my head. I don't think they do that anymore though...

You need an icon of the ultrasound with "HAID" on it.

I think you meant "the beautiful and highly domed crown of a great thinker" on Kieran.

Enough room for his huge, pulsing brains, yeah? :p

[identity profile] honey-child.livejournal.com 2005-06-07 08:11 pm (UTC)(link)
Not to freak you out but when I was born, my huge head got stuck and they had to pry me out of my mother's womb with these huge scissor deals.

If I shaved my head, you'd probably see the marks from the struggle: My head VS Doctor.

The baby is looking cuter each day....I think.

[identity profile] sexyscholar.livejournal.com 2005-06-07 08:16 pm (UTC)(link)
Ah, the salad spoons?

They used the salad spoons on me when I was born. I still have the marks.

For this, I can never be bald. Bleh.

Aww. Thanks! :)

That's what [livejournal.com profile] fmh keeps telling me.

"It's to hold his hulking, pulsating brains."

:p

"Incoming message from the Big Giant Head!"

I'm glad you and the (not so) little guy are doing well.

[identity profile] rainbow-slinky.livejournal.com 2005-06-07 11:58 pm (UTC)(link)
He's beautiful!

[identity profile] ryl.livejournal.com 2005-06-08 02:51 am (UTC)(link)
He looks like he's rockin' out in there. That flutter may have been headbanging (haidbanging?).

[identity profile] greyyguy.livejournal.com 2005-06-08 03:50 am (UTC)(link)
Awww... he's so cute! He looks just like you ;)

My sister lost weight with Tori and didn't gain any back until near the end. Which was funny because her husband gained weight the whole time with all the cooking she did. So she lost more weight when she had the baby, and he didn't. It was amusing.

As for squeezing that out- that is what drugs are for ;)

Yes. Ask for the drugs before you think you need them. By the time you think you need them, it will be too late for you to actually get them.

Can I put in the order now?
